Calcutta is My Mother

Calcutta is My Mother Documentary

Calcutta is My Mother is an adoption story of loss, gain, and identity. It tells the story of Reshma McClintock, an adoptee who was born and abandoned in Calcutta, India, and adopted in Portland, Oregon. The film follows Reshma’s journey back to Calcutta, where she connects with her heritage while managing the emotional weight of feelings surrounding her adoptive and biological families.

Reshma is a familiar voice for Adoptees On listeners. She has appeared on the podcast a number of times: on episode 100, episode 107, and episode 120. She is also the founder of Dear Adoption and cofounder of Family Preservation 365, two online services that promote adoptee voices and healthy family structures.
